Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Rashid Mahmood Langrial announced on Sunday that Pakistan Customs has achieved significant progress in modernizing its operations through the implementation of the Pakistan Single Window (PSW) and Faceless Customs Assessment (FCA) System. These advancements have streamlined the trade process, leading to increased revenue and expedited clearance of export goods.
According to a statement by the Press Information Department, Langrial made these remarks while serving as the chief guest at a ceremony held in observance of International Customs Day-2025 at the Customs House in Karachi. He noted positive feedback from the traders’ community in Karachi regarding the FCA System’s introduction.
Langrial emphasized the importance of the World Customs Theme-2025, “Customs delivering on its commitment to efficiency, security and prosperity,” for Pakistan Customs as it seeks to evolve into a modern, dynamic, and forward-thinking institution. During the ceremony, he also participated in flag hoisting, laid a wreath at the Martyrs’ Monument, and recited Fateha.
In his opening remarks, Collector Customs Enforcement Karachi, Moinuddin Wani, expressed gratitude to Chairman FBR, Rashid Mahmood Langrial, Member Customs Operation (FBR), Junaid Jalil, and other attendees for their presence. The ceremony concluded with Member Customs Operation (FBR), Junaid Jalil, reiterating Pakistan Customs’ commitment to combating smuggling, stabilizing the economy, and facilitating business activities nationwide.
Jalil praised Customs officials for their contributions to economic stability and expressed hope for continued efforts in the future. Certificates of appreciation were distributed by Chairman FBR Rashid Mahmood Langrial to officers for their outstanding performance.
International Customs Day is observed globally on January 26, and this year, celebrations took place in all Collectorates of Customs across Pakistan. The grand ceremony at Customs House Karachi was attended by Consul Generals from Oman, Indonesia, and Kuwait, representatives from Russian and UAE consulates, senior customs officials, and various business and social figures.
