Pakistan Demands India Grant Self-Determination in Kashmir at UN Forum

At the United Nations Human Rights Council, Pakistan has affirmed that Kashmir is an internationally recognised disputed territory, referencing pertinent United Nations Security Council resolutions in its declaration.

According to a report by MOIB today, exercising the right of reply at the forum in Geneva, Pakistan’s First Secretary, Adeel Mumtaz Khokhar, contended that the denial of the right to self-determination constitutes a violation of human rights as stipulated by the Vienna Declaration.

He urged that India, as a member of the international community, should create an enabling environment for the exercise of the right to self-determination by the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
