Citing the untold suffering inflicted upon the Palestinian people during a devastating war in Gaza that has spanned over two years, Pakistan has called on the international community to translate its commitments into concrete actions.
According to a report today, the appeal for tangible measures was delivered by Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, the Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the UN, during a Security Council briefing on the Middle East situation, which included the Palestinian Question.
Ambassador Ahmad conveyed that the world has witnessed the protracted conflict with “anguish and disbelief.” He asserted that the resilience demonstrated by the Palestinian population under unimaginable hardship necessitates an equal level of conviction and response from global powers.
Describing the current circumstances as a defining moment, the envoy stressed that promises made to the Palestinian people must now be fulfilled through decisive steps.
He concluded by reaffirming Islamabad’s unwavering solidarity, stating that Pakistan stands firmly with Palestine in its struggle for dignity, justice, self-determination, and the realization of an independent state.
