Pakistan has issued a strong condemnation of the ongoing Israeli military actions in Gaza, highlighting significant loss of life and the targeting of essential infrastructure.
The statement, released on Tuesday by Minisry of Foreign Affairs, outlines Pakistan’s concerns over the expansion of Israeli ground operations and its intent to “take control of all” of Gaza, which Pakistan believes threatens peace efforts in the region.
The press release emphasizes that Israel’s continued obstruction of humanitarian aid amounts to collective punishment of the Palestinian population. This sentiment resonates with the recent alarm expressed by UN SecretaryGeneral António Guterres, who highlighted the severe food insecurity and starvation risks facing one in five residents of Gaza.
Pakistan calls on the international community to demand an end to what it describes as Israel’s genocidal campaign. It stresses the need for a ceasefire and the provision of unhindered humanitarian aid to the affected population. Additionally, it urges accountability for what it terms as Israel’s violations of international law.
The Pakistani government also reiterated its firm opposition to the displacement of Palestinians, expansion of Israeli settlements, and annexation of occupied lands. It reaffirmed support for Palestinian selfdetermination and the establishment of a Palestinian state along pre1967 borders with AlQuds AlSharif as its capital.
