Pakistan-EU Strategic Plan Faces High-Stakes Review in Crucial Brussels Dialogue

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, has commenced a pivotal three-day official visit to Brussels to co-chair discussions focused on a comprehensive review of the entire framework of cooperation under the 2019 Pakistan-EU Strategic Engagement Plan.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs report today, the dialogue, which runs from November 19 to 21, is the seventh session of the Pakistan-EU Strategic Dialogue, considered the foremost institutional mechanism for interaction between the two sides. Senator Dar will co-chair the session alongside the EU High Representative and Vice President for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, following her official invitation.

In addition to the strategic review, the Foreign Minister’s agenda includes participation in the 4th EU Indo-Pacific Ministerial Forum. A series of bilateral engagements and meetings with senior European Union officials are also scheduled to take place on the sidelines of the forum.

The diplomatic engagement in Brussels represents a significant milestone in the relationship. The visit underscores Pakistan’s stated commitment to cultivating a comprehensive and mutually beneficial partnership with the European Union.
