On the occasion of the 128th Independence Day of the Philippines, Pakistan has extended heartfelt felicitations to the Government and people of the Philippines, expressing deep admiration for their resilience and courage throughout their national journey.
In a statement today, Pakistan said that as both countries prepare to mark 77 years of formal diplomatic relations later this year, their ties remain rooted in mutual respect, goodwill, and a shared desire to work for the betterment of both nations.
It was stated that Pakistan reiterated its commitment to multilateral cooperation in key global forums, including the United Nations and ASEAN, adding that both countries were determined to advance the relationship with renewed energy and purpose.
The statement further noted that the bilateral partnership holds significant potential, and both sides are actively exploring avenues for expansion. It highlighted that Pakistani textiles, pharmaceuticals, food products, and manufactured goods complement the Philippines’ strengths in electronics, agricultural produce, and coconut-based industries.
It was emphasised that vast untapped potential exists in agriculture, food security, healthcare, defence cooperation, education, information technology, and renewable energy, which could be realised through increased business-to-business engagement, joint ventures, and policy coordination.
Pakistan also expressed appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by the Government and people of the Philippines to the Pakistani community residing there, noting that professionals, entrepreneurs, and families serve as a vital bridge of friendship and strengthen people-to-people ties.
Reaffirming its global outlook, Pakistan said it remained committed to addressing pressing international challenges, including climate change, sustainable development, and efforts to promote a more equitable and just global order.
