Pakistan has implemented its first-ever National Blood Transfusion Policy, a landmark initiative poised to make the country self-sufficient in plasma production and open new avenues for exporting plasma-derived products to global markets.
According to an official information today, the policy’s implementation follows its formal approval by the Federal Cabinet and is attributed to the persistent efforts of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).
A central component of this new framework is the introduction of the Plasma Fractionation method, a technological advancement described as a revolutionary step for the nation”s health and biotechnology sectors.
The SIFC was instrumental in the policy”s development, providing comprehensive facilitation and ensuring coordinated inter-ministerial and inter-provincial cooperation to bring the initiative to fruition.
This strategic policy is expected to not only meet domestic needs but also enhance Pakistan”s access to international markets by creating significant export potential for its plasma-derived medical products.
