Pakistan Pledges to Boost Economic and Defence Ties with Kuwait

President Asif Ali Zardari today reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to significantly enhance bilateral cooperation with Kuwait, particularly in crucial sectors such as trade, investment, and defence, for the mutual benefit of both nations.

The pledge was conveyed in a formal letter to His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Amir of Kuwait, extending heartfelt felicitations on the country”s National Day and the accompanying Hala February festivities.

In his message, President Zardari highlighted the deep-rooted historical relationship between the two states, which he described as being founded on mutual trust, shared values, and a joint commitment to regional peace and prosperity.

The President noted that the fraternal relations are continuously expanding across various domains, including information technology and people-to-people exchanges, alongside the strengthening economic and defence collaboration.

Mr Zardari also termed the vibrant Pakistani community residing in Kuwait as a “vital bridge” between the two nations, acknowledging their contribution to Kuwait’s development and the fortification of bonds between the two peoples.

The President praised the resilience, unity, and steady progress of the Kuwaiti nation under its leadership and extended warm wishes for the good health of the Amir and the continued prosperity of the Kuwaiti people.
