Pakistan Rangers (Sindh), in a major success against organized crime, arrested an accused, Qasu, on Monday in an intelligence-based operation. The accused, identified as Qasim alias Qasu, involved in extortion and other criminal activities, was arrested from the Malir area, and a large cache of weapons, including a 30-bore pistol, a repeater, and a 12-bore double-barrel shotgun, was recovered from his possession.
During initial interrogation, the accused has confessed to his involvement in multiple criminal activities. In his confessional statement, he detailed his involvement, along with his accomplices, in numerous incidents of extortion and firing in several key commercial and residential areas, including North Karachi, Lee Market, Malir Ghanchi Market, and Korangi.
Further details provided by the paramilitary force revealed that the accused has also been participating in various gang fights in the Lyari area. In light of his confession, authorities have initiated a series of raids to track down and apprehend his remaining accomplices.
Following the arrest, Qasim and the recovered weapons have been handed over to the local police to initiate formal legal proceedings.
The Rangers have also appealed to the public to report any information about such criminal elements through designated channels, including the Rangers Helpline 1101 or Madadgar WhatsApp number 03479001111. The force assured that the identity of any informant would be kept confidential.
