Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) on Saturday arrested two individuals involved in the illegal sale and purchase of weapons during a planned operation in Manzoor Colony and Lucky Star, Saddar, Karachi. The suspects, identified as Rashid Mehmood Awan and Haji Banu Khan Wasan, were apprehended based on intelligence reports.

A large cache of weapons and related equipment was recovered during the operation. The recovered items include various types of firearms, such as 30-bore pistols, multiple 9mm pistols, a 5.56mm rifle, and a substantial quantity of ammunition. Additional materials include 20 assorted magazines, 45 pistol pouches, 10 ammunition pouches, 45 ammunition belts, 10 rifle covers, and five security guard uniforms. Significantly, authorities also seized numerous weapon parts, 177 arms licenses, 302 identity cards, and various electronic devices, including five mobile phones and a computer.

The arrested individuals confessed to creating approximately 900 counterfeit arms licenses using forged government seals. Efforts are underway with government agencies to verify the legality of the recovered licenses. In light of these developments, operations are ongoing to apprehend further accomplices.

The suspects and the seized items have been transferred to police custody for legal proceedings.
