Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to fostering regional peace and security through sincere efforts, a resolve expressed during a significant telephone conversation with Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian.
The cordial forty-five-minute discussion saw the two leaders delve into the prevailing regional circumstances, according to a report on Monday.
Prime Minister Sharif conveyed gratitude to President Pezeshkian and the Iranian hierarchy for dispatching a high-level delegation, comprising Speaker Mohammed Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, for bilateral discussions held in Islamabad earlier this month, on the 11th and 12th.
The Prime Minister also informed the Iranian President about his recent interactions with prominent global figures, including the leadership of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkey.
These engagements, he articulated, proved highly beneficial in cultivating a shared understanding for a continuous process of dialogue and diplomatic engagement, aimed at achieving enduring peace within the conflict-affected area.
Additionally, Sharif extended appreciation to the Iranian authorities for their productive discussions with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir during his visit to Tehran earlier this week. He further conveyed his respectful greetings to the Supreme Leader, His Eminence Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei.
In response, the Iranian President commended the Prime Minister and the Field Marshal for Pakistan”s steadfast dedication to the success of peace-building endeavours, affirming that bilateral ties between Iran and Pakistan are poised for continued strengthening.
