Pakistan’s Foreign Office today issued a sharp rebuke to the Israeli Ambassador to India, taking strong exception to recent remarks about the country that were circulated on social media.
Responding to media queries concerning a video clip of the Israeli ambassador, Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi firmly dismissed the characterisation of Pakistan as ‘baseless’.
Mr Andrabi countered by pointing to what he described as Israel’s own ‘real record of aggression and rogue conduct’.
He specifically referenced the ‘illegal occupation, the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and the indictment of Israeli leadership in international courts’ as evidence to support his assertion.
The spokesperson concluded by emphasising that responsible nations are expected to uphold international law rather than deflect from it.
