Pakistan and Russia have launched their inaugural consultations focused on security issues across Asia, engaging in high-level exchanges on regional security dynamics, new strategic partnerships, and potential areas for enhanced collaboration.

According to official information today, the landmark discussions in the capital featured a Russian delegation led by Aleksei Ovchinnikov, Director-General for Asia and Pacific Cooperation of the Russian Foreign Ministry. He held a formal meeting with Tahir Andrabi, who serves as both the Additional Foreign Secretary and the Foreign Office Spokesperson.

During his visit, Mr. Ovchinnikov also held separate engagements with Additional Foreign Secretary for Asia Pacific, Imran Siddiqui, and the Director-General of the Institute of Strategic Studies, Islamabad, Ambassador Sohail Mahmood.

In an official statement regarding the meetings, the Foreign Office articulated that Pakistan values its cooperative relationship with Russia. The communication further affirmed the nation”s commitment to dialogue-driven approaches that advance regional peace and stability.
