Pakistan Secures Bahraini Fintech Support to Overhaul Banking Sector

In a significant move to modernize its financial infrastructure, Pakistan has secured a commitment from Bahrain to share its advanced Fintech expertise, a development aimed at transforming the nation’s banking system.

The landmark discussion took place between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Minister of Finance and National Economy. This engagement was a direct follow-up to recent talks between Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and his Bahraini counterpart, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

According to a statement released by the Foreign Office, the deliberations centered on broadening collaboration within the finance industry. The ministers also explored avenues for enhanced partnership between the central banks of the two countries, signaling deeper institutional ties.

A key outcome of the dialogue was the mutual agreement to establish specialized teams composed of relevant officials from both nations. These working groups will be tasked with creating a comprehensive framework to guide future cooperation in finance, banking, commerce, and the wider economy.

Officials characterized the high-level talks as a pivotal step toward reinforcing the economic partnership between the two allied nations.
