Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori has praised the efforts to promote veterans’ cricket and sports in the country, stating that experienced players serve as a guiding light for the younger generation.
According to a statement today, details of the tournament’s preparations were shared with Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori during a briefing by Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association (PVCA) Chairman, Fawad Ejaz Khan, at the Governor House.
Pakistan is gearing up to host the Over-40 T20 World Cup 2025, a major international tournament featuring 12 countries and a total of 42 matches, with the opening ceremony scheduled for November 21 in the city.
The global event will be inaugurated with a ceremony slated to include an impressive fireworks display to welcome the international veterans’ teams participating in the competition.
Governor Tessori lauded the initiative to promote veterans” cricket, stating that seasoned athletes serve as a guiding light and inspiration for the younger generation. He extended his full support for the successful execution of the competition.
The governor emphasized that hosting such international competitions is crucial for enhancing Pakistan”s positive image on the global stage. The meeting also covered the broader contributions of veterans” cricket towards fostering sports and encouraging constructive activities within the country.
