Pakistan has called for an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine, expressing deep concern over the escalating human suffering and reaffirming its position that a peaceful settlement can only be achieved through diplomacy and dialogue.
Addressing the UN Security Council Briefing on Ukraine, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, articulated the nation’s perspective on the ongoing hostilities, according to a report by MOIB today.
The Ambassador conveyed his hope that all involved parties would fully leverage current diplomatic channels, exhibiting authentic political will and mutual understanding. He urged constructive engagement from all sides to make significant progress towards a negotiated resolution.
Concluding his remarks, Asim Iftikhar affirmed that Pakistan would persist in supporting any initiatives designed to bridge divisions and encourage a pacific settlement of the dispute.
