Pakistan has issued a call for Sudan and South Sudan to resume dialogue, championing a peaceful settlement for the long-standing dispute over the Abyei region.
Addressing the United Nations Security Council, Pakistan’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Usman Jadoon, conveyed his nation”s position on the matter.
According to a report by MOIB today, the ambassador stressed that constructive political engagement between the two nations is the sole viable method for achieving a lasting resolution.
In his remarks, Jadoon underscored that diplomacy and renewed discussions represent the only sustainable solution to the contentious issue.
