Chairman of the Senate, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, today declared that any challenge to Pakistan’s national security will be met with a ‘strong, befitting, and decisive response,’ following recent cross-border aggression by Afghanistan’s Taliban regime.
In a statement released on Friday, Mr Gilani paid glowing tribute to the Armed Forces of Pakistan and security agencies for their prompt and effective counter-action to the incursion in the border regions.
Citing the hostilities from the previous night, the Chairman commended the military’s reaction as a display of ‘exceptional professionalism, courage, and well-calculated strategy,’ describing it as a matter of national pride.
He praised the bravery and unwavering commitment of the personnel involved, asserting that the entire nation stands in solidarity with its defenders.
The Chairman was unequivocal that no compromise would be made on the nation’s security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. He underscored that Pakistan”s military possesses the full capability to defend every inch of its territory and would not permit any hostile actions.
Concluding his remarks, Mr Gilani stated that the Pakistani populace, in unison with its security institutions, is fully prepared to foil any malevolent designs. He affirmed that the nation”s defence is in ‘safe and invincible hands’ and that all necessary measures will be taken to safeguard the country’s stability.
