Pakistan’s Currency Exchange Rates Witness Fluctuation in Open Market

Karachi: Exchange rates for major currencies in Pakistan's open market showed notable figures on January 9, 2026, according to data released by the Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan (ECAP). The figures highlight the buying and selling rates for currencies such as the US Dollar, Euro, British Pound, Japanese Yen, UAE Dirham, and Saudi Riyal.

In the open market, the US Dollar was being bought at 280.40 PKR and sold at 281.05 PKR. The Euro saw a buying rate of 326.68 PKR and a selling rate of 329.82 PKR. The British Pound was listed with a buying rate of 376.50 PKR and a selling rate of 379.95 PKR.

The Japanese Yen had a buying rate of 1.76 PKR and a selling rate of 1.83 PKR. The UAE Dirham's rates were 76.49 PKR for buying and 77.22 PKR for selling. The Saudi Riyal was listed with a buying rate of 74.82 PKR and a selling rate of 75.40 PKR.
