Pakistan’s significant diplomatic role as a facilitator in the US-Iran crisis is strong, according to Senator Masood Khan, who rejected any notion that the country’s international importance has diminished.
The former President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and former Ambassador to the US and China clarified today that earlier statements by US President Donald Trump had been misinterpreted.
He said that those comments did not mean that Pakistan had been excluded from the crucial negotiation process between Washington and Tehran.
Ambassador Khan emphasized that confidential communications and indirect discussions are actively continuing, with Pakistan playing an effective mediating role.
He highlighted the complexity of the diplomatic path, stressing the need to harmonize the internal policies of both countries involved.
