The elimination of social and religious friction and the inclusion of all classes, especially minorities, in the national mainstream are among the government’s priorities, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced today.

The statement was part of separate messages issued by the Prime Minister and President Asif Ali Zardari on the occasion of the International Day for Tolerance, where they reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to fostering understanding and peaceful coexistence.

Both leaders vowed to implement solid measures for the promotion of forbearance, communal harmony, and inter-faith brotherhood among all citizens and nations.

In his message, President Zardari stated that the principles of tolerance are deeply rooted in the teachings of Islam, which emphasize compassion, justice, and respect for all humanity.

He also highlighted that the freedom to profess religion and manage religious institutions is a right enshrined in the Constitution of Pakistan.
