The Parliamentary Leader of the Peoples Party in the Karachi Municipality and Spokesperson for the Mayor of Karachi, Karamullah Waqasi, met with council members and representatives of various union councils on Wednesday. During the meeting, a detailed discussion was held regarding the ongoing development projects by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) across the city, infrastructure rehabilitation, road construction, improvement of the sewerage system, and the promotion of urban facilities.
On this occasion, the members provided a detailed briefing on the pace, quality, and delivery of services in line with public expectations regarding the ongoing development works in their respective areas. They emphasized the need for rapid progress on urban issues, particularly drainage, sanitation, streetlights, and clean drinking water projects.
Karamullah Waqasi assured the delegation that the Mayor of Karachi is committed to completing development activities in all districts of the city transparently and effectively, in line with the Peoples Party’s public vision. He said that the reconstruction of Karachi is not just an administrative but a public responsibility, and the Peoples Party leadership wants citizens to be provided with all the facilities they deserve.
He further added that the current KMC administration, under the direction of the Mayor of Karachi, is taking practical steps at every union council level to resolve issues and provide relief to the citizens. He directed all members to play an active role in redressing public complaints and monitoring development works.
Paying tribute to the Peoples Party’s vision, Karamullah Waqasi said that the party leadership has always prioritized empowering urban governments and resolving the fundamental problems of the people of Karachi. He reiterated the commitment that not only will continuity be maintained in Karachi’s development projects, but their scope will also be expanded so that the benefits of improvement reach every citizen.
