Philanthropists have supported people in every difficult time: Governor

KARACHI: Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori has said that social workers and philanthropists have supported people in every difficult time and even in recent heavy rains they contributed to the relief work.

He expressed these views while addressing the Humanity Award ceremony organized by a local News Channel for philanthropists and businessmen who provide social services, according to a statement issued on Saturday. No doubt philanthropists and businessmen are doing their moral and social duties very well, he added. Governor Sindh further said that ‘I congratulate the friends who received the awards. I hope that the award will boost the morale of philanthropists and businessmen and they will perform social services with more diligence’.

He further said that in every difficult situation, the whole nation becomes one and this spirit distinguishes us from other nations. He lauded the idea of Akhtar Shaheen Rind which is commendable.

He said: “On Friday ‘I visited the flood-affected areas of Dadu where conditions are very bad, people do not have adequate food, drinking water and shelter, we need to do more to help them In this regard, philanthropists should come forward and help us because at this time affectees are surrounded by difficulties and they are looking towards us.”

Governor Sindh while appreciating the services of Haji Hanif Tayyab, patron of Al-Mustafa Welfare Trust, who has rendered significant services in the fields of education and health, said that his institution is at the forefront in providing unparalleled services in the fields of education and health. He also praised the Sindh Boy Scouts and said that the scouts are rendering excellent services to help the flood.
