Photos by Gerbehaye raised IOK people’s woes globally

Brussels, July 31, 2018 (PPI-OT): Kashmir Council European Union (KCEU) Chairman, Ali Raza Syed, has said that international coverage of photographs clicked by famous French-Belg photographer, Cedric Gerbehaye, in Indian occupied Kashmir helped in raising miseries of the oppressed Kashmiri people.

An article authored by Rania Abouzeid titled, “Conflict in Kashmir Takes a Grim Toll on Unwitting Victims,” was recently published along with the photographs clicked in occupied Kashmir by Cedric Gerbehaye on website of globally famous National Geographic Magazine.

Giving detail of the images, the article raised the individual stories of sufferings of Kashmiris as well as by publishing a territorial map, it introduced Jammu and Kashmir as a disputed region having a population of 18 million people in South Asia.

So far, many of the European newspapers and magazines including daily De Standaard, Belgium, and Le Monde of France as well as media in Holland’s and Germany republished the photographs of Cedric Gerbehaye from occupied Kashmir. Cedric Gerbehaye preserved these photographs in his camera during his recent visit to the occupied territory.

The KCEU Chairman, Ali Raza Syed, on the occasion said, these photographs tell about the miseries of the people of occupied Kashmir. It is important to mention that Cedric Gerbehaye has already displayed his pictures from occupied Kashmir during two conferences arranged by the KCEU at the EU Parliament and European Press Club in Brussels, last year.
