PM: (Ensuring justice to marginalized sections of society Govt’s top priority: PM)

ISLAMABAD:Prime Minister Imran Khan has said ensuring justice to the weak, helpless and poor sections of the society is top priority of the present government.

Addressing a review meeting of the legal reforms made under current government to facilitate and provide justice to the people here on Friday the Prime Minister said eliminating the loopholes in the current justice system and ensuring easy, economical and speedy access to justice for the people is a key component of the PTI’s manifesto. He directed to draw a roadmap for reforms in jails and criminal justice system, change in police station culture, registration of cases and investigation.

He also constituted a committee comprising Law Minister Barrister Farogh Naseem, Advisor on Parliamentary Affairs Dr Babar Awan and Attorney General for Pakistan and directed the committee to work on timelines to move ahead with the legal reform process as per the expectations of the people. The meeting also decided to set up a modern forensic lab in the Federal capital. Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi was also present in the meeting.
