PM Imran’s UN speech to draw world attention to IOK lockdown: Rehmani

Islamabad, September 30, 2019 (PPI-OT): The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League (JKPFL), Muhammad Farooq Rehmani has expressed hope that the speech of Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan at the UN General Assembly in New York will draw the world leaders’ attention towards syndrome of curfew and lockdown caused by the Modi government.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in a statement issued in Islamabad said that India in violation of all the UN resolutions and Pakistan-India bilateral agreements and historical character of Kashmir bifurcated the occupied territory into two parts and merged them with Delhi as new union territories of India.

He deplored that the whole occupied territory was put under curfew and lockdown and the additional troops were airlifted from New Delhi and large scale arrests were started even before the dooms day of 5th August 2019. The second month of the Kashmiris in cage is running out while the United Nations or its Human Rights Council have yet to castigate India for abrogation of Kashmir special status and invoke resolutions on the disputed region, he added.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani stated that the PM had rightly during his speech and other mission activities brought into limelight the present trial and tribulations of the people of Kashmir under siege and unravelled India’s malicious designs against Kashmiris, Islam and Muslims.

He said the prime minister rightly pointed to Islamophobia as the cause of current global chaos. The PM must acknowledge that whatever Israel with the support of West had done in Palestine during the last 100 years to make 2 percent Jews as its majority population against the Arab Muslims, in the same way Modi government had begun to implement Zionist theory of demographic change in Kashmir, he deplored.

He said that the Pakistan PM had called upon the world to take quick measures which warranted new direction to the country’s foreign policy at home as rightly actions speak louder than words. The PM’s call to the UN for the right to self-determination must be heard aloud and Kashmiris, fighting for their cause of freedom and plebiscite is above all paramount and the people caged in their homes or forcibly disappeared or detained in thousands outside the territory should not be tortured and tormented further, he maintained.

He said, as the PM Pakistan believes the free will of the Kashmiris must be held in highest esteem and considered as final. The foreign policy planners and thinkers in the establishment must initiate solid steps to free the people of Kashmir from the syndrome of slavery and Inhumanity under the Indian occupation, he concluded.
