Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today expressed gratitude to US President Donald Trump for acknowledging Pakistan’s role in counter-terrorism efforts, particularly in the recent capture of Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP) commander Shareefullah.

Sharif shared his appreciation in a post on his X handle, highlighting the successful operation by Pakistan’s security forces in the Pakistan-Afghanistan border region that led to the apprehension of the wanted terrorist, an Afghan national.

The PM reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to working closely with the United States to strengthen regional peace and stability. He emphasized that Pakistan has consistently played a pivotal role in counter-terrorism operations, ensuring that no militant group is given the space to operate against any country.

He underscored Pakistan’s unwavering resolve to combat terrorism in all its forms, recalling the immense sacrifices made in this fight, including the loss of over 80,000 soldiers and civilians.

The Prime Minister reiterated that both the leadership and the people of Pakistan remain steadfast in their determination to eliminate terrorism and safeguard national and regional security.
