PM’s aide calls on Chief Minister Punjab

LAHORE: Special Assistant to PM Dr Shahbaz Gill called on Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar at his office to discuss the political situation and upcoming Senate election. He also congratulated the CM on the launch of the Rehmat ul Lil Alameen (PBUH) Scholarship Programme.

While discussing various features of the programme, the CM maintained the amount will be extended to one billion rupees and vowed that no shortage of funds will ever hinder this noble cause.

Around 15 thousand students of intermediate and BS Hons will be given scholarships, he added. Fifty per cent of scholarships will be given on merit while as many numbers of scholarships are earmarked for needy students. Similarly, the quota of Punjab government employees of 1 to 4 grade is fixed and the Rehmat ul Lil Alameen (PBUH) Chair will also be set up in universities at the district level along with scholarships to PhD researchers, he said. The purpose of this effort is to fulfil the obligations of Ishq-e-Rasool (PBUH), the CM said.

The CM asserted the opposition is trying to survive through the politics of propaganda as its anti-state narrative has been exposed. Meanwhile, the PTI government has moved the province on the road to development and the vision of composite development has been materialized for the first time, he emphasized. Regrettably, the past governments, ignored even the basic needs of the people and no practical step was taken to facilitate the masses, the CM continued. The politics of chaos and anarchy will not prevail as the people have rejected such elements. On the other side, Usman Buzdar reiterated that the direction of resources has been moved towards fulfilling the fundamental needs of the common man and added that durable development of human resources is a priority of the government.

Shahbaz Gill termed the launch of a scholarship opportunity as a great honour as it would facilitate intelligent but needy students in their studies. The government is fully committed to providing every possible resource to all such students, he added. It is a humble effort to pay tributes to the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in recognition of His love for those seeking knowledge and this initiative will prove a blessing for all of us.

Meanwhile, the SAPM regretted the negative politics being promoted by the opposition as well as the attempts of the weakening of institutions. Every child is indebted due to the wrong policies of the past governments, he said. Contrary to it, the incumbent government is taking decisions in the larger public interest and the Punjab government’s steps for ameliorating the lot of the common man are laudable, concluded the SAPM.
