In a major crackdown against drugs, police in Umerkot arrested a gutka dealer and supplier following a high-speed chase on Samaro Bacha Band Road. The arrest comes as part of a broader campaign ordered by SSP Umerkot, Asif Raza Baloch, targeting the sale of gutka, locally-produced alcohol, and other criminal activities across the district.

The suspect, identified as Ali Hassan Banglani, attempted to flee a police checkpoint set up by SHO Ahmed Bakhsh Rahmon of Samaro Police Station, according to local authorities. During the pursuit, the suspect’s vehicle overturned. No injuries were reported.

Police recovered approximately 50,000 packets of gutka from the overturned vehicle. Authorities said Banglani was allegedly planning to distribute the illegal substance to various cities.

A case has been registered against the accused. Further investigations were ongoing, officials said.
