Inspector General of Police (IGP) for islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, today directed officers to perform their duties with greater vigilance and professional competence following a personal inspection of security arrangements at various mosques and imambargahs during Taraweeh prayers.
During his tour of the city”s places of worship, the IGP met individually with police personnel deployed on duty, commending their performance. He encouraged them to maintain a strong sense of responsibility to provide a safe environment for citizens and to effectively manage any potential incidents.
The inspections followed a high-level meeting chaired by the IGP at the Central Police Office, where a detailed review of the district”s overall security situation was conducted. The session was attended by senior officials including Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Muhammad Jawad Tariq, Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Operations Muhammad Shoaib Masood, and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) for the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), Muhammad Arsalan Shahzaib.

In a separate initiative under the force”s Open Door Policy, the IGP also held a “Khuli Katcheri” (open court) to address public and internal grievances directly.
Both citizens and police officers attended the open session, presenting their problems and complaints. The police chief listened to the concerns and issued clear, on-the-spot instructions to the relevant officers for their immediate resolution.
Reaffirming the police”s commitment to public service, the IGP stated that the prompt resolution of citizens’ problems on the basis of merit and transparency is a top priority for the capital”s police force.
