Police claim capturing two Afghan nationals after encounter

LAHORE: Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested two Afghan nationals following an encounter.

Police said the outlaws belong to Afghanistan and are involved in heinous crimes including kidnapping, looting, snatching, robbery and terrorizing people.

Police setting up barricades on a road were checking motorists in the wake of rising crime in the area. In the meantime, they signalled a suspected motorcycle but the suspects did not stop. Instead, they opened fire on the policemen.

Police responded effectively and injured two outlaws who were later arrested. The outlaws were identified as Ameer Khan alias Mahir and Ibrar alis Baidarak.

A motorcycle, mobile phones, cash and two pistols along with bullets were seized from them. It is learnt that the outlaws had snatched the bike from Campus Police area.
