An accused involved in incidents of dacoity and other serious crimes in several districts was arrested by Thatta police in an injured state after an exchange of fire.
The encounter took place on Monday evening near Mari Stop on Bharani Link Road, within the limits of the Jherruck police station. Officials have identified the injured person as Abdul Sattar Shah, a resident of Shah Bandar tehsil in Sujawal district.
According to a police report, Shah was allegedly involved in several criminal activities, including dacoities, robberies, and motorcycle snatching. These crimes were allegedly committed in various areas of Thatta, Jamshoro, Tando Muhammad Khan, and Sujawal districts.
A revolver, believed to have been used in these crimes, has been recovered from his possession. Authorities have started conducting raids for the arrest of his three nominated accomplices, Lal Bux Mallah, Ghulam Nabi Mallah, and Muhammad Hassan Shoro, who escaped from the scene.
The injured accused has been shifted to a hospital for medical treatment under police custody. Meanwhile, investigators are conducting a thorough check of his criminal background while a formal investigation is underway.
