LAHORE: Police on Wednesday claimed to have seized a huge cache of weapons from the house of two Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders in Lahore.

Addressing a press conference, DIG Suhail Chaudhry said that the police had recovered the modern weapons from the house of PTI leaders Zubair Niazi and Bajash Niazi, which could apparently used in long march. The DIG said that the weapons recovered included 96 submachine rifles (SMGs), six 223-bore guns, three pistols, 70 small arms packets and 50 magazines.

He said that the weapons were smuggled in vehicles and the PTI leaders managed to escape from the scene after the police raided their house. The police raided and searched three vehicles and recovered the weapons from one vehicle. The DIG claimed that the arms were transported to Lahore and the apparent purpose was to use those weapons in the long march.
