MARDAN: A policeman was killed and four others injured in a bomb blast in Mardan on Thursday.
According to police, a bomb blast ripped through a police picket in Mardan, killing a cop and injuring four others. A large contingent of police rushed to the scene and started rescue operation.
SP Investigation Rana Sanaullah informed media men that the bomb was detonated through remote-control. The device weighed about 10kg, he added.
Rescue ambulances and medical teams rushed to the site to help the injured. A bomb disposal squad also arrived at the blast site to carry out an inspection. A tense situation prevailed in the area.
