PPP launches drive to distribute 33,000 sewing machines to women

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has initiated a programme to distribute more than 30,000 sewing machines among women in a bid to promote economic empowerment and household income generation.

PPP youth leader Rawal Sharjeel Memon said today the campaign would provide 33,000 sewing machines to eligible women under a broader initiative aimed at expanding livelihood opportunities.

He said the programme was launched on the directives of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, adding that the party was taking ‘key steps’ to strengthen women’s financial independence through small-scale entrepreneurship.

Memon described the initiative as a ‘landmark project’ designed to create income-generating opportunities for thousands of women, saying sewing machines would help beneficiaries achieve greater economic self-reliance and improve household earnings.

He added that efforts were underway to expand employment opportunities for women in Hyderabad district, calling the scheme a major welfare initiative by the party for underprivileged women.

According to Memon, the 33,000 sewing machines will be distributed across Hyderabad Rural Taluka to support women in establishing home-based work and earning a sustainable livelihood.
