Okara district authorities held a meeting to finalize preparations for sensitive religious and national days, including the Chehlum of Imam Hussain (AS), Kashmir Exploitation Day, and Independence Day. The District Peace Committee meeting, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Ahmed Usman Javed and DPO Rashid Hidayat, was attended by members of the provincial assembly, district administration, religious leaders, and peace committee delegates.
Additional Deputy Commissioner General Hafiz Muhammad Umar Tayyab outlined the planned arrangements for these important occasions, including security measures under Operation Zarb-e-Azb. Both Javed and Hidayat reiterated their commitment to ensuring smooth operations and maintaining peace and order. The provincial assembly members emphasized implementing best practices as per the directions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
The committee lauded the administration’s performance during the recent Muharram arrangements. Religious leaders and peace committee representatives assured their support for the upcoming days. Acknowledging the complexities involved, Javed expressed confidence in achieving the best results and stressed the need for patriotic displays during Independence Day celebrations.
Members of Provincial Assembly Mian Muhammad Munir, Chaudhry Iftikhar Hussain Chachar, and Chaudhry Javed Alauddin praised the administration’s performance during Muharram. They urged sensitivity towards religious sentiments during Chehlum and highlighted the importance of public participation in government programs. The meeting concluded with a prayer for national development and prosperity.
