President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening digital access and improving connectivity across Pakistan. This announcement was part of their messages on the occasion of World Telecommunication and Information Society Day.
President Zardari emphasized the significant contribution of the telecommunications sector to the nation’s development and highlighted ongoing efforts to expand the fiber network and establish satellite communication regulations for remote areas.
Prime Minister Sharif highlighted the government’s commitment to the rapid deployment of 5G technology, finalizing the national fiberization policy, and increasing domestic production of telecom equipment. He mentioned the remarkable growth of the digital sector, noting that annual IT exports have reached an impressive $3.8 billion.
Both leaders expressed their gratitude to the professionals of Pakistan’s telecommunications industry, recognizing their vital role in the country’s digital development.
