President Asif Ali Zardari today described violent extremism as a ‘grave violation of human dignity’ and an affront to universal values, affirming Pakistan’s commitment to tackling the root causes of radicalisation and violence.
The President’s remarks were delivered today in a message commemorating the International Day for the Prevention of Violent Extremism as and when Conducive to Terrorism.
He articulated the nation’s pledge to champion peace, foster tolerance, and encourage mutual respect as key pillars of its strategy.
In his statement, the head of state categorised extremist actions as a direct challenge to the fundamental principles of justice, compassion, and human rights.
