Prime Minister Condemns Attack on Anti-Polio Campaign Security in South Waziristan

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the terrorist attack on police officials tasked with protecting an anti-polio campaign team in South Waziristan.

The attack resulted in the martyrdom of a police constable, prompting the Prime Minister to express deep sorrow over the loss.

In his statement here today, PM Sharif offered prayers for the martyr constable and extended his condolences to the bereaved family, wishing them strength and resilience. He also ordered immediate medical attention for those injured in the attack.

Sharif stressed that those who target anti-polio workers and their security detail are adversaries of both humanity and the nation. He pledged to ensure that the perpetrators face justice and urged the public to resist yielding to such intimidation.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the continuation of the anti-polio campaign and highlighted the ongoing efforts by the Government of Pakistan and law enforcement agencies to eliminate terrorism from the country.
