Prime Minister Sharif Embarks on Strategic Belarus Visit

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif today departed for Belarus on a two-day official visit at the invitation of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko. October 24, 2023 marks the start of this visit, which aims to review progress and bolster cooperation in mutually beneficial areas.

Talks between Prime Minister Sharif and President Lukashenko are set to focus on enhancing the already strong partnership between Pakistan and Belarus. Key agreements are anticipated to be signed, reflecting a commitment to deepen ties.

This visit builds on a series of high-level engagements over the past six months, including the 8th Session of the Joint Ministerial Commission held in February. These discussions have paved the way for a promising exchange.

Accompanying the Prime Minister are Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Special Assistant to Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi, and senior officials. This visit follows President Lukashenko’s official trip to Pakistan in November last year, reinforcing the continuous dialogue between the two nations.
