Protest for speedy construction of Nasirabad Taluka Hospital exceeds 100 days, ‘Black Day’ observed

The citizens’ campaign for the speedy construction of Nasirabad Taluka Hospital entered its 103rd day, with residents and social activists observing a “Black Day” on Wednesday in protest against the continuous delay and demanding the immediate construction of the taluka hospital.

In the demonstration organized by the Sajag Shehri Ittehad (Awakened Citizens’ Alliance), political figures, social campaigners, journalists, and local citizens wore black armbands as a symbol of their grievance over the unfulfilled promise of a functional medical facility.

Speaking to the media, the alliance leaders Comrade Muhammad Rafi Laghari and Sufi Ghaffar Channo stressed that access to basic health and treatment facilities is the constitutional right of every citizen of Pakistan. They emphasized that the people of Nasirabad taluka have been deprived of this fundamental right for many years.

The organizers declared their unwavering commitment to the establishment of the hospital through public struggle and pledged that their movement would continue despite obstacles.

To intensify their campaign, the Sajag Shehri Ittehad has announced a protest rally on February 13, which will start from the incomplete hospital building. The rally aims to press for the completion of the hospital and the provision of better medical services for the area.
