Protest held against SHO Wagan over crime rise

LARKANA: Residents of Wagan town held a protest demonstration in Jinnah Bagh here on Monday against the menace of money lending , gambling dens, drug usage and other crimes.

The protesters chanted slogans against the SHO Wagan police station, demanding stern action against his failure to control the evils and his transfer. Imdad Shaikh, Muharam Mangnejo, Amir Mangnejo, Ali Raza Shaikh, Amir Shaikh and others said that ever since the posting of SHO Ali Hasan Abro at the police station, gambling dens, illegal money-lending business and criminals activities have increased manifold in and around Wagan due to which life has become very hard for the residents.

They said a complaint was made against him after which DIGP ordered an inquiry but no action against the SHO has yet been taken. They said that due to drug usage, the future of youngsters has been ruined, many families are passing miserable lives due to unlawful menace of money lending, thefts and other criminal activities have multiplied and forced the residents to remain awake even during night time.

The protesters demanded immediate removal of the SHO and posting of a hardworking, honest and dedicated police officer to maintain peace and tranquility in the areas.
