In a power show organized by the Jammu Kashmir Joint Public Action Committee in Khori Chana, there was strong criticism of the voltage drop and the power outages.

The Action Committee demanded that if their charter of demands is not implemented by May 10, a strong movement will be launched. Declaring electricity theft as a betrayal of public rights martyrs, an appeal was made to the public to use electricity only for legitimate needs.

In this gathering held in Ali Sojal, Action Committee members Umar Nazir Kashmiri, Liaqat Hayat, Khawaja Mehran, and others addressed the crowd. They said that the illegal use of electricity is affecting electrical appliances and there is corruption in their procurement. The speakers warned the Azad Kashmir government to immediately end the benefits of the privileged class.

During the gathering, full support for the ongoing public movement in Gilgit-Baltistan was also announced, and the immediate release of prisoners was demanded. The speakers stated that there is no example of corruption like that in Azad Kashmir and that the struggle for the restoration of public rights will continue.

The Action Committee took an oath from the public that they will not engage in electricity theft and will ensure the proper use of electricity. Participants paid tribute to four martyrs and announced that May 13 would be celebrated as a national day each year to remember their sacrifices. If their demands are not met, a call for strong protests will be issued.”
