PTI govt afraid of Benazir Bhutto’s name: Khuhro

LARKANA:PPP Sindh Chief Nisar Ahmed Khuhro said Saturday that PTI’s federal government was afraid of Benazir Bhutto’s name. He said the federal government was disbursing Rs 12000 among the poverty-stricken women under Ehsaas Program funds which were in fact of Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) given previously in three equal installments each of Rs 4000.

In a press statement on Saturday, Khuhro said that the federal government should make it clear that the amount paid to the poor women was actually of BISP, then why its name had been changed to Ehsaas Program, he asked. He said it was old habit of PTI government to get credit of others’ projects because, he added, they don’t have any strategy.

He said BISP program Act was passed from the parliament and it was contempt of parliament to change name of BISP to Ehsaas program. He said if the prime minister had to make famous his tiger force and Ehsaas Program then it should be carried out at his own party’s funds and not out of taxpayer’s hard earned money.

He said taxpayers’ money should be given to the poor people under BISP as per parliament Act and this drama of using name of Ehsaas program must end. Khuhro further said that the federal government was making political scoring during the current COVID-19 pandemic situation. He said PTI government should understand now that current situation was to serve the poverty-ridden masses without any difference and point scoring.
