PTI Sindh President Haleem Adil Sheikh Tuesday expressed strong criticism over the prolonged power outages during the intense heatwave that affected Karachi and other parts of Sindh.

In a statement, Sheikh highlighted that despite the severe heat, unjustified load shedding continues in various cities of Sindh, with Karachi facing outages of 14 to 16 hours in several areas, while other cities endure up to 20 to 22 hours of load shedding.

Sheikh condemned the hardships faced by citizens due to the combination of extreme heat and power outages. He remarked that the governments formed through fraudulent means, referencing Form 47, had no concern for the public’s well-being. He demanded an immediate end to the unwarranted load shedding.

The PTI leader also voiced support for the protests by Karachi residents against the power cuts and water shortages. He pointed out that 70% of Karachi’s population lacks access to clean drinking water. Sheikh pledged that PTI would take to the streets if necessary to resolve public issues.

In response to the current heatwave, Sheikh urged the administration to set up cold water stalls across Karachi and called on the Sindh government to take immediate measures to protect citizens from heat strokes.
