Punjab’s Information Minister, Azma Bukhari, addressed the media in Lahore on Thursday, revealing a grave flood situation in Jalalpur Pirwala while assuring the public of the administration”s successful efforts in safeguarding the city.
Bukhari disclosed that the deluge had impacted over 4,000 villages, leading to the evacuation and relocation of more than 13,600 individuals to secure locations in the past 72 hours, elevating the total number of rescued residents to approximately 2.3 million.
The minister reported that the crisis in Head Muhammad Wala Sher Shah is now manageable. Addressing concerns regarding essential commodity prices, Bukhari emphasized the government”s commitment to preventing artificial inflation of flour costs. She issued a stern caution against hoarding wheat, promising stringent measures against those engaging in such practices.
