Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) today detained three suspected members, including the ringleader of the Chandio gang, following an intelligence-based operation in the Sindhi Goth area. The group is allegedly involved in numerous incidents of robbery and street crime across the city.
The detained individuals have been identified as the alleged ringleader Munir Ali Chandio alias Mannu son of Juman Chandio, Rajab alias Raju son of Khadim Hussain, and Abdul Jabbar alias Baqar son of Deen Muhammad. During the operation, authorities recovered a motorcycle, five fake number plates, and an unspecified amount of cash from their possession.
According to a spokesperson, the accused and their associates were allegedly involved in armed robberies and incidents of snatching mobile phones and cash at gunpoint. The criminal activities spanned multiple locations, including various areas of Shah Latif Town, Qaddafi Town, Zafar Town, Pipri, Ali Muhammad Goth, Steel Town, Quaidabad, Manghopir Road, New L Colony, and Gulshan-e-Hadeed.
In addition to street crime incidents, the organization is also accused of stealing iron and copper from the Steel Mill.
Official sources have described the arrested individuals as habitual offenders, stating that multiple First Information Reports (FIRs) are registered against them in various police stations across the city.
The three suspects, along with the recovered items, have been handed over to police custody for further legal proceedings. Authorities have confirmed that raids are being conducted to track down and detain the remaining associates of the gang.
