Authorities have launched a strict crackdown against the dangerous act of one-wheeling starting today, with First Information Reports (FIRs) now to be registered against violators as per official directive.

In a renewed move against the dangerous activity, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Farhan Aslam confirmed that a special anti-one-wheeling squad is now active 24/7 on the city’s thoroughfares.

To curb the dangerous stunts, special pickets have been established at key locations, reinforcing the enhanced patrolling duties of traffic personnel.

The CTO said that a “zero-tolerance policy” will be strictly enforced against both one-wheeling and underage driving.

Upon catching underage drivers, Mr. Aslam announced that in addition to a challan, the involved motorcycle or vehicle will be impounded at the police station.

The operation will also extend to those who facilitate the dangerous stunts, with the CTO confirming that legal action will also be taken against mechanics who modify motorcycles for one-wheeling.

Mr. Aslam made a direct appeal to guardians, advising that “parents should keep a special watch on their children on these specific days,” emphasizing the severe risk of accidents when a minor is given a vehicle.

He urged parents to play a positive and constructive role in discouraging both underage driving and the dangerous act of one-wheeling.

The CTO appealed to the public to support this initiative, stating that citizens should immediately report any incident of one-wheeling or racing to the traffic helpline.

Mr. Aslam concluded, “With the cooperation of citizens, especially parents, it is possible to eliminate the deadly sport of one-wheeling.”
