Rawalpindi Traffic Police Directed to Adopt Zero Tolerance on Serious Violations

Rawalpindi’s Chief Traffic Officer on Tuesday directed personnel to adopt a “zero tolerance” approach towards serious traffic offenses, including violations of helmet, seat belt, and one-way rules, following a key meeting.

The directive was issued by CTO Farhan Aslam during a significant conference at the Traffic Headquarters, attended by circle and sector in-charges, duty officers, and administrative staff.

Alongside strict enforcement measures, CTO Aslam also emphasized professional conduct, instructing all officers and personnel to treat citizens with politeness, patience, and tolerance.

He introduced the slogan “First Salam, then Talk” and stressed that ethics and courtesy should be prioritized when issuing tickets or giving instructions.

The CTO stated unequivocally that any mistreatment of women, the elderly, children, and disabled individuals is “unbearable.”

Mr. Aslam emphasized the need for 100% implementation of traffic laws, demanding that all tickets and legal actions remain transparent and in strict accordance with legal regulations.

Further instructions included ensuring road discipline through effective action on stop lines and lane discipline to improve traffic flow.

“Uninterrupted traffic flow and ease for road users should be your top priority,” said the CTO.

Maintaining an atmosphere of trust between the police and the public was stated as a fundamental objective of the new directives.

The CTO also directed to provide maximum facilities to citizens at licensing centers and to ensure prompt and fair action on any complaints received.

All in-charges were tasked with conveying the comprehensive message, based on strict adherence to ethics and laws, to their respective field officers.
