Rawalpindi Traffic Police on Saturday announced a comprehensive traffic management strategy to handle expected traffic congestion during the tri-nation cricket series. More than 350 officers and personnel will be deployed to ensure the flow of traffic via alternative routes, minimizing disruptions for commuters.
During the teams’ movements, traffic will be temporarily diverted, with vehicles coming from Islamabad being redirected from Faizabad to the Expressway, while those traveling from Rawalpindi to Islamabad will be diverted from 6th Road to Syed Pur Road. On match days, Stadium Road will be completely closed from 9th Avenue Chowk to Double Road.
To facilitate cricket fans, three parking areas have been designated at the Civil Aviation Ground, Shahbaz Sharif Park, and the Graduate Degree College Satellite Town. A shuttle service will be operated to transport fans to the stadium.
The public is encouraged to follow the official traffic police social media accounts and tune into radio station 88.6 for real-time updates. Chief Traffic Officer Farhan Aslam stressed the importance of public cooperation with traffic authorities to ensure a smooth experience for everyone. The Rawalpindi Traffic Police is committed to maintaining a seamless flow of traffic amidst the excitement of the sport.
